I have a very, very vague memory of reading a Planet Rugby column [or whatever it was called in those days] that talked about him going to fight in a no holds barred competition in Brazil in the mid-90s.
That would have been Vale Tudo/early UFC rules, i.e. ‘the rules are, there are no rules’. Looper, but hero.
