The Liginds couldn’t quite keep up the three-yellow-card-a-game precedent set in their season opener, but they gave it a good lash.
Both Peter O’Mahony and Lifeimi Mafi managed to avoid the referee’s bad book, but their traditional seats in the sin bin were quickly filled by Niall Ronan and Billy Holland.
Seemingly stung by their loss of face last year, the Liginds have stormed to the bottom of the SpecSavers Fairplay League. In their last three games this season [including the pre-season friendly match against London Irish in which Varley, Ronan and Borlase were yellow-carded], the Liginds have shipped a whopping eight yellow cards – eighty minutes in the bin in three games!
